THE ORIGIN OF EVERYTHING THAT MAKES US VIBRATE: THE EARTH
More than a commemorative date, Earth Day is a reminder of our belonging to a greater natural balance. Today, we honor the richness of the soils and the generosity of a nature that enables excellence in every harvest. For the world of wine, this celebration is essential: we understand terroir not as a mere production setting, but as the very soul of each wine and the living expression of our journey. For a winegrower, the land is the beginning and the end. It is the terroir that provides identity, that filters water, that safeguards nutrients, and that allows each vintage to be unique. A healthy and balanced soil not only produces better grapes, but also acts as a lung that captures carbon and regulates the microclimate of our vines. Without respect for this finite resource, the magic we feel when uncorking a bottle would simply disappear.
Celebrating this day means recognizing our collective responsibility to protect the planet’s balance. It is about understanding that the future is not something that simply happens, but something we cultivate today with every decision we make.

THE HEARTBEAT OF CONSCIOUS VITICULTURE
For those of us who dedicate our lives to the vineyard, respect for the environment is a commitment renewed every morning. Sustainability is no longer an option but the only possible path to ensure that the landscapes that move us today remain intact for generations to come. In our winery, this commitment translates into a conscious environmental strategy that seeks to give back to nature a part of all that it offers us. Our daily work is built on fundamental pillars that ensure a greener tomorrow:
– Protection of biodiversity: We understand the vineyard as a living ecosystem where we promote biological control, eliminating insecticides and acaricides. We combat pests through sexual confusion techniques and plant tree species (olive trees, almond trees, cypresses) along the perimeter to provide shelter for birds that naturally regulate the environment.
Respect for the Soil: We are committed to 100% organic fertilization, using manure from nearby livestock farms to naturally enrich the soil, thereby reducing transport and carbon footprint. In addition, we maintain cover crops between the rows to protect the soil structure.
– Water and Energy Management: We use 100% renewable energy in our wineries and optimize every drop. We aim to continue reducing water consumption, treating wastewater in our own treatment plants in Rueda to return it to the vineyard.
– Circularity at every step: We strive to make our footprint on the world increasingly lighter. Thanks to reducing the weight of our bottles, we save 3,031 tons of glass per year. In addition, we use recycled materials in our packaging and recycled paper labels to ensure that circularity is real.

A COMMITMENT BACKED BY ACTION
This day also celebrates unity of purpose. For this reason, we are part of global alliances such as International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA), where we are a Silver Member, and we hold the Wineries for Climate Protection certification. These distinctions endorse our real effort to achieve the Net Zero goal, continuously reducing our carbon footprint per liter bottled. This is not about individual goals, but a shared vision to continue protecting the global wine heritage.
AN INVITATION TO FEEL THE EARTH
Earth Day is also, for us, an invitation to pause. To feel the breeze, to observe the texture of a leaf, and to appreciate the complexity of aromas that arise from a carefully tended soil. It is a moment to value that behind every sip of wine lies a deep respect for geography and for the rhythms set by nature itself.
Today we raise a glass to the planet, to its resilience, and to the commitment of all those who, like us, believe that the true quality of a wine is born from the deepest respect for its origin. Because only when we care for what surrounds us are we able to create moments that endure over time.
