TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE GAME

Rules

• In order to play, you must sign up on the Spanish Wine Academy website.
• You can do a maximum of 10 tests per day.
• You can only do the tests that correspond to the level you are on until you unlock the next level.
• To unlock the next level you will need to get full marks on a test from each of the categories of the game.
• Yu will not be able to choose the level of your tests until you reach level three.
• Each test question is given a value of 1 to 5, depending on the difficulty of the question. Depending on the level of difficulty of the test, extra points will be added to the result.
• You have 30 seconds to answer each question.
• Each test consists of 5 multiple choice questions, with only one correct answer.
• The test questions will correspond to the selected category and the level of the user, but will not follow any set order.
• The weekly and monthly winners are selected from the scores obtained by al users during that time period, regardless of the overall ranking.
• If you leave a test unfinished, you will receive two penalty points. This will be checked at the end of the each day.
• If any sort of foul play is detected:
  • The first time this occurs, all points, achievements and trophies earned during that week will be withdraw.
  • The second time it occurs, all points, achievements and trophies earned during that month will be withdrawn.
  • The third time it occurs, the user’s account will be cancelled and they will be expelled from the game.

Game scoring

Test completed

By completing a test you can obtain the following scores:

• If you fail the test but get more than 80% of the answers correct, 1 point.
• If you pass the test, you will receive a different score depending on the level you are on, and whether it is the first time you have taken that test on that level
  • On the Wine Basics level: 5 points if it’s your first time, and 2 points for each successive time.
  • On the Wine Lover level: 10 points if it’s your first time, and 3 points for each successive time.
  • On the Wine Professional level: 15 points if it’s your first time, and 5 points for each successive time.

In addition, each question is assigned a value ranging from 1 to 5 points according to its difficulty, which, when added up and divided by the total number of questions in the test, yields the points to be added to the test you pass according to your level.

Trophies

Once you have passed each of the tests corresponding to the different topics of a particular level of difficulty, you will earn the following points:

• On the Wine Basics level: 100 points.
• On the Wine Lover level: 200 points.
• On the Wine Professional level: 300 points.

Loyalty scheme

By entering the platform and taking tests, you can be rewarded for the amount of tests you pass during you Spanish Wine Academy adventure. The higher the level of difficulty of the tests, the higher the score. If you manage to:

• Pass 10 test you will obtain:
  • On the Wine Basics level: 10 points.
  • On the Wine Lover level: 20 points.
  • On the Wine Professional level: 30 points.
• Pass 20 test you will obtain:
  • On the Wine Basics level: 10 points.
  • On the Wine Lover level: 20 points.
  • On the Wine Professional level: 30 points.
• Pass 50 test you will obtain:
  • On the Wine Basics level: 10 points.
  • On the Wine Lover level: 20 points.
  • On the Wine Professional level: 30 points.
• Pass 100 test you will obtain:
  • On the Wine Basics level: 15 points.
  • On the Wine Lover level: 25 points.
  • On the Wine Professional level: 35 points.
• Pass 500 test you will obtain:
  • On the Wine Basics level: 20 points.
  • On the Wine Lover level: 40 points.
  • On the Wine Professional level: 60 points.
• Pass 1000 test you will obtain:
  • On the Wine Basics level: 25 points.
  • On the Wine Lover level: 50 points.
  • On the Wine Professional level: 75 points.

Plus, if you visit our website on a daily basis, you can earn more points:

• 7 points if you pass 1 test every day of the week.
• 30 points if you pass 1 test every day of the week.

The best

On a weekly and monthly basis, we will check the top scorers in each province and across the whole country, and we will award extra points the day after the end of each respective period. These scores will be as follows:

• To the top scorer of that week, 5 points, if they are the best in the province, and 10 points if they are the best in the country.
• To the top scorer of that month, 20 points, if they are the best in the province, and 30 points if they are the bests in the country.

Neither loyalty points nor points obtained for the top scores of the week or month are taken into account when drawing up the list of the best.

Penalties

It’s important that you finish the tests that you start. An unfinished test will result in a deduction of 2 points.
