From the strength provided by experience and the know-how honed after many years, Reserva Original emerges as a tribute to someone who always believed in wine.
A high-intensity, cherry red wine with aromas of blackberry, liquorice and hints of clove and graphite. Lively in mouth, with the presence of plums, and balsamic and mineral notes. Ideal with smoked foods, soft cheeses and international dishes.
WINE MAKER
Rodolfo Bastida, is the orchestra director of Ramón Bilbao, an expert in the conquest of wine. You can always count on him in this new adventure that is about something more than wine. Vitality, maybe …
Harvested from two plots located in Villalba de Rioja during the second week of October. Manual harvest in boxes, with vines selected both at the vineyard and winery. This vintage is characterised by a overall lack of rainfall, high temperatures from May onwards, and rain at the end of September. This harvest is classified as Very Good by the D. O. Rioja’s Regulatory Council.
Using traditional methods, cold pre-fermentation maceration is carried out with dry ice, and stalking with daily remontage are combined with delestage and pigeage. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats at 28ºC, and malolactic fermentation in barrel, followed by ageing in one-use French oak barrels for 20 months.
Cherry red and of high intensity, this wine has aromas of liquorice with notes of cloves and graphite. It is very lively in mouth with balsamic notes and a hint of cherries and minerals.
A good accompaniment for beef dishes, smoked foods, soft cheeses and international cuisine. Serve between 18ºC and 20ºC.
